Warehouse Assistant Job Summary:
The Warehouse Assistant plays a vital role in the smooth operation of our metals company's warehouse. This position primarily involves assisting with various warehouse tasks related to the storage, organization, and distribution of metal products. The Warehouse Assistant will collaborate closely with warehouse personnel to ensure efficient operations and exceptional customer service.

Warehouse Assistant Duties/Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
- Receive incoming metal shipments, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Inspect incoming materials for quality and compliance with specifications.
- Verify and record quantities received against purchase orders and packing lists.
- Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records of metal products.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and assist with annual physical inventory audits.
- Monitor inventory levels and promptly report any discrepancies.
- Identify and report any quality issues or non-conforming materials.
- Pick, pack, and prepare metal orders for shipment based on customer requirements.
- Ensure proper labeling and documentation for outgoing shipments.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment.
- Properly store metal products to maximize space utilization and accessibility.
- Collaborate with warehouse team members to achieve department goals.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors regarding workflow and priorities.
- Support a positive and cooperative work environment.
Warehouse Assistant Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to operate a computer, using basic skills for inventory management and documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Warehouse Assistant Education and Experience:
- Prior experience in a warehouse or logistics environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with metal products and their handling is an advantage.
- Valid forklift operator certification is a plus.
Warehouse Assistant Physical Requirements:
- Ability to withstand extended periods of standing, bending, pushing, pulling, kneeling, and lift over 50 lbs. on occasion.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.
