Production Supervisor

SUMMARY:

Chance Aluminum, based in Williamsport, PA, focuses on aluminum production as the domestic supplier for AA Metals, a Florida-based master distributor with global operations in the United States, Columbia, Turkey, and China. We are a safety focused, drug-free, tobacco-free industrial manufacturing facility looking to expand our team of dedicated, goal-driven individuals.

Currently, we have an immediate opportunity for a Production Supervisor for 2nd Shift at our Williamsport facility. We're looking for a results oriented professional with an exemplary track record of success in safety and collaboration to join our team.

PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR

PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR PRIMARY JOB FUNCTION:

Provides leadership and direction with an eye on the future goals of the organization while maintaining a focus on safety, quality and efficient productivity. Supervise production operation in accordance with plant policies and procedures. Ensure safe and smooth production operation during shift.

PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Promote a safe and efficient working environment, ensuring all associates perform within safety guidelines for the facility. Provide direction and assistance with safety processes, procedures and investigations when necessary.

Supervise production operation in accordance with plant safety and quality policies and procedures.


Train and coach production associates to work together to achieve goals. Conduct performance reviews evaluating associate comparative to defined expectations, roles, adherence to policies and procedures.


Responsible for shift schedule to include workstation assignments/rotations, associate training, manage time and attendance, associate breaks, overtime assignment, back-up for absent associates.


Coordinate production startups, shutdowns, and changeovers. Contain and coordinate diagnosis of quality issues and communicate customer impact.


Prioritize multiple problems and assigns resources effectively. Actively seek feedback and input from the group to solve process and organizational problems.


Effectively share company information with team and clearly describe how that information impacts work group.


Coordinate with Human Resources for appropriate staffing levels.


Schedule and conduct shift meetings.


Responsible to meet shift production goals. Responsible for quality control.


Assists in writing and reviewing of operational and safety JSAs on plant equipment; improves procedures and develops new JSAs based on observations and experiences.

Complete shift paperwork and/or electronic system updates.


Effectively communicate with all levels of staff, work independently or as a team, and provide direction to keep work areas safe, clean and orderly.


Other tasks as assigned.

PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in business management or a related technical field is preferred, or

Associate degree with additional experience will be considered

Four years industrial manufacturing experience required

Two or more years progressive leadership experience required

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and computer navigation needed.

Additional ERP & timekeeping related business software systems preferred.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Excellent time management skills

Ability to multitask

Knowledge of health and safety regulations for industrial manufacturing environment

PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

Requires ability to work in a manufacturing environment, which may include exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels, dust, dirt, manufacturing and mobile equipment.

Physical conditions for position: Sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, kneel, stoop, crouch, grasp, ascend/descend stairs, lift up to 40 lbs.
