Warehouse Manager Job Summary:
The Warehouse Manager is an operations leader responsible for overseeing the daily activities of our warehouse, specializing in aluminum and stainless-steel distribution. The Warehouse Manager supervises receiving, product storage, order fulfillment, shipping, and inventory management; ensures the safety, security, and compliance of the warehouse; and provides leadership, guidance, and direction to assigned warehouse staff.
Warehouse Manager Duties/Responsibilities:
- Direct and oversee all warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory management, order fulfillment, and distribution of materials, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and safety.
- Lead, develop, and manage warehouse personnel, fostering a culture of accountability, excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Implement and maintain inventory control systems, conduct regular audits, and ensure precise tracking of all materials to optimize operational performance.
- Ensure full compliance with all safety protocols and regulatory requirements, delivering ongoing training and reinforcing a culture of safety.
- Identify opportunities to improve warehouse processes, workflows, and resource allocation, driving operational efficiency and cost effectiveness.
- Collaborate closely with supply chain, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure seamless coordination, timely deliveries, and fulfillment of organizational objectives.
- Prepare, analyze, and present operational reports and performance metrics to senior leadership, providing actionable insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Review and analyze customer feedback, complaints, and product failures to identify trends and implement corrective measures.
Warehouse Manager Required Skills/Abilities:
- Exceptional leadership and team management capabilities, with a proven ability to inspire, mentor, and motivate a diverse warehouse workforce.
- Deep expertise in warehouse operations, inventory management, logistics, and material handling, preferably with aluminum and stainless-steel products.
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across internal teams, suppliers, and customers.
- Comprehensive knowledge of safety regulations, including OSHA standards, and best practices in the handling of heavy metals and warehouse equipment.
Warehouse Manager Education and Experience:
- 5+ years experience as a Warehouse Manager or similar leadership role within a metals-focused warehouse or distribution environment.
- Extensive knowledge of warehouse management systems, inventory control, shipping/receiving operations, and metal handling procedures.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and relevant warehouse management software.
- Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts and material handling machinery.
- Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills with the ability to drive team performance and operational excellence.
